Today is pretty big for soccer. No, there are no big games to speak of, and that I know of C. Ronaldo hasn't gone from Red Devil to Merengue just yet. So, why is it so big today, so important that I even bother to wirte today, from home no less?
The new Puma Tricks are out!
Check 'em out here: http://www.worldsoccershop.com/departments-footwear-shop-by-style-puma-v1-08-puma-v1-08-i-fg-tricks-cleats--bk-dark-shdw-barely-blu.html
Cool, huh? Oh yes. These are boots you could fly in, like Samuel Eto'o does in that super cool ad.
Here's a little info about this superb new style of an already speedy boot:
It's called the The v1.08 i Tricks Firm Ground Boots from Puma (Black/Dark Shadow/Barely Blue) sporting the supercool skeleton design -
It's called the Tricks but you'll feel like it's a Treat when you lace into these amazing boots! Made with a durable textile and microfiber upper with a grip texture for shot-shaping power, TPU-injected external heel counter, the outsole extends up over the toe for added durability, and inner chassis with carbon fiber and double density TPU; with 2-piece TPU outsole plate with point stud configuration for an awesome game on firm, natural surfaces, and lastly, but not leastly, weighing in at a mere 7.6 oz, it'll almost be like playing in bare feet, except your feet will never look this good!
These great boots would do better if Eto'o had won the Champions League, but let's keep in mind he has already won one. And now, he gets to play in the new Tricks boots.
Coming up in the next few issues I'll be taking a closer look at the boots for the Euro 2008 - the adidas Country TUNITS and the Nike E8 line of Vapors, Legends and Lasers. So, stay tuned for all the footy fun!

Chelsea 08/09 Home Soccer Jersey Review
http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-chelsea-fc-chelsea-08-09-home-soccer-jersey.html
The new Chelsea 08/09 Home Soccer Jersey launched a few weeks ago, and it’ so good they had to wear it twice already – for the final match of the Premier League season, the UEFA Champions League final. Even though they haven’t tasted victory in this new shirt, it won’t be long until they do!
I had a chance to take this baby for a test drive. And oh what a shirt it is. It’s no wonder they played so darned well in that Champions League final; it’s not the shirt’s fault that Drogba was sent off, and that Terry slipped. Soccer jerseys have made a huge leap forward in the materials they’re made of lately. This season it seems like many teams are creating some new, more vented fabrics for their jerseys, not only for the field but for replica shirts as well. This latest Chelsea shirt is no exception. I did everything save for putting it on, for we had a size M and I’m well into the 2X range. I’ll say that I would love to play in it, for the fabric looked like double-lined mesh with ClimaCool, and the usual mesh panels throughout. With all the great personalization options available (including Champions League patches, and authentic Premier League letters/numbers) this is a great, innovative shirt, which you’ll be proud to wear for the 08/09 season at Stamford Bridge, or your local pub.
Next I’ll talk about the new Liverpool shirt. Stay Tuned!

Personalize your Euro
Not all teams are created equal, even as 16 top European federations get ready to battle it out for the prestigious trophy, only a few offer a full array of authentic personalization options to you – their loyal fan, and customer.
Here’s a list of what World Soccer Shop has, as far as Home/Away soccer jersey customizations. We’ll go in alphabetical order so as not to pretend we’re favoring one team over the other:
France http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-france-national-soccer-team.html
Just like the stores in Paris, the France National Soccer Team has a ton of amazing gear from adidas to choose from. Plus, when it comes to customization, they’ve got it good. If you want the authentic letters/numbers for Henry, Ribery, Evra, Vieira or Smith or Jones, you could get it, for a few $s more and a few extra days, but as you could see from some of the jersets on this page – it’s well worth it!
Germany - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-germany-national-soccer-team.html
The Deutschland is always a contender for every soccer competition, therefore it’s no surprise that the Germany national soccer team has adidas making lots and lots of products for their great fans. Ballack, Klose, Podolski, these are just a few of the names you could get on your official Germany home/away soccer jersey, and be kitted out before the first match kicks off.
Greece - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-greece-national-soccer-team.html
I’ll bet that before the Euro 2004 began there wasn’t this much Greek soccer gear around; now, the Cinderella champions of ’04 have a selection of products to rival the big boys like Germany and France. I’m sorry to say I can’t even name one player from the Greek team, and I won’t go to Wikipedia right now; so, if you don’t know the players too well, then go the vain route and get your own name and number on the back of these super cool Greece soccer jerseys!
Holland (or Netherlands) - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-holland-national-soccer-team.html
The creators of Total Football are hoping to add another Euro Cup to go alongside their 1988 trophy; they’ve got some great players to do it: Van Nistelrooy, Sneijder, Van Persie, Kuyt and more. Wear the authentic letters/numbers of your favorite Dutch star – or your own – and get ready for the Euro action in Oranje Style!
Italy - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-italy-national-soccer-team.html
Pirlo, Cannavaro, Gattuso, Toni and even Totti, those are the authentic names you could get screened on the backs of your Azzurri soccer jerseys. Plus, Italy has a huge page-full of great products to make your Euro more exciting.
Portugal - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-portugal-national-soccer-team.html
Cristiano Ronaldo. Will anyone wear another name on the back of the Portugal soccer jersey? That’s about the only question you could ask, for as long as number 17 is on the field, the Portuguese side has a great chance to win big in Austria/Switzerland this June. Gear up to cheer them on with some top notch Portugal soccer products.
Spain - http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-euro-2008-spain-national-soccer-team.html
Last but certainly not least, Spain comes into the tournament with their usual level of high hopes and star-studded lineup. Consequently, you can get any authentic letter of the alphabet on the official Spain home or away soccer jersey. That’s not all, adidas offers training tops, jackets, balls, t-shirts, and then some, to properly root for La Furia Roja. ¡Arriba España!
So much for being unbiased.

Chivas make playoffs
The Chivas, Mexico's most popular team, qualified for the Clausura championship quarter-finals by drawing 2-2 at Chiapas.
We have lots of Chivas gear. The home soccer jersey http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-chivas-de-guadalajara-chivas-07-08-home-soccer-jersey.html is the one they’re wearing now, we have authentic player customization options, and at $54.99 it’s one of our most economical shirts. The white away jersey is going for a crazy $44.99! Plus we have youth and women’s gear, as well as training gear, plus five different Chivas Reebok boots.
Some info about the Mexican League
Like the MLS, Mexico has a quirky playoff system: The 18-team First Division play each other once in the qualifying stage (season) but are divided into three groups with the top two in each going through.
Toluca and Chiapas, in Group One, and Santos Laguna and Monterrey, in Group Two, already qualified with matches to spare. San Luis, Atlas, Pachuca and Necaxa, who finished with the best records from the remaining teams, will play off for the other quarter-final places.
If you’d rather do your Fútbol En Español, check out http://www.tiendafutbolmundial.com/

Euro 2008 Closing In
Euro 2008 kicks off June 7th, and so now’s the best time to gear-up for this momentous soccer event with the products you need to adequately cheer on your team. If you want authentic player soccer jerseys, the following teams have them: Germany, Spain, Holland, Portugal, France, and for Italy and Switzerland we have heroes nameplates from some of their top players. So, order now and make sure to get the Euro 2008 gear you want, just in time for the games to begin.
Derby Makes Serie A Interesting
AC Milan beat Internazionale on Sunday in the Milan Derby and climbed into the 4th European spot in Italy. Moreover, Roma throttled Sampdoria 3-0 to climb to within 3 points of Inter, making the race for the Italian Serie A tighter than it’s been for a long time.
Congratulations
To FC Bayern Munich for winning their 21st German First Division title with an away 0-0 draw at VFL Wolfsburg on Sunday.
Also wrapped up is La Liga, as Real Madrid scored late at Osasuna to win 2 – 1 and claim their 31st Spanish crown.

The Race for England will go one more Week
Just moments ago, Chelsea FC blanked Newcastle UnitedUnited 0-2 at St. James’ Park to keep pace with Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League. They share the same amount of points (84) but the goal-difference, that annoying little tie-breaker, favors Man U by a lot, so Chelsea needs a home win against Bolton, and hope Man United slip at Wigan to win the league, while a Red Devils road victory in their final league match of the season will crown them English champions for the 17th time in their illustrious history.

Man U just 3 Points from the Crown
The Red Devils hammered the Hammers today at Old Trafford 4-1. That means they're still in the driver's seat to win the Premiership title - with one more match remaining. Wigan holds the key. If Man U drop points at Wigan on the 11 of this month, then they have to do some Blues watching, hoping Chelsea lose or draw at Newcastle and home versus Bolton - two ties that Chelsea should win.
When I said we were well-stocked for Man U gear the other day, I was wrong. It seems the shipment of 500 home jerseys we got in the other day got turned around rather quickly. And, just got word from above (straight from Manchester United) that the very popular black away jerseys are gone forever. The good news is however, that we have about a billion (I exaggerate) home jerseys, which they'll also be wearing for '08/09, expected to hit our massive warehouse June 1st - and maybe by then they'll be celebrating a double. So, pre-order your Manchester United Home Soccer Jersey now! http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-manchester-united-football-club-manchester-united-08-09-home-soccer-jersey.html and look for the five new retro jerseys, including one from the glorious '99 treble, here: http://www.worldsoccershop.com/departments-retro-soccer-gear.html.
In aforementioned Retro Soccer section you'll also find a Celtic Retro Jersey, and being that Celtic defeated Motherwell 2-1 today, taking an 8-point lead in the SPL, now's the time to stock up on great Bhoys gear, to prepare for the celebrations. Check out our Celtic section: http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-celtic-fc.html.
Enjoy a great weekend of Soccer!

Key Weekend for the Big Euro Leagues
We could be seeing celebrations at the Bernabeu, the San Siro and the Allianz, as Real Madrid http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-real-madrid-cf.html, Inter Milan http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-inter-milan-fc.html , and Bayern Munich http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-bayern-munich-fc.html look to clinch the top spot in their respective leagues. Even if they don’t get it done this weekend, it’s a foregone conclusion that these European giants will win La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga.
If the Blancos defeat Osasuna on the road, they’ll collect their Spanish-best 31st league trophy, meaning they could be celebrating in their ‘07/08 away jerseys: http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-real-madrid-cf-real-madrid-07-08-away-soccer-jersey.html on sale now for only $55 bucks!
For the Nerazzurri it will be a bit more difficult, as they face city rivals AC Milan in the derby, meaning a victory will grant them their 15th league title. They might need some help from above so they might want to wear their white and cross jerseys http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-inter-milan-fc-inter-milan-07-08-away-soccer-jersey.html.
A mere point at VFL Wolfsburg will earn FC Bayern Munich their 21st German league title, and the domestic double. They may wear their away jersey, on sale now for only $45 http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-bayern-munich-fc-bayern-munich-07-08-away-soccer-jersey.html.

To Russia with Love
I really tried to find a better headline, but nothing could compare to the one used by ESPNSoccernet moments after the huge Chelsea victory over bitter English rivals Liverpool, to send them to their first ever Champions League final.
The final will take place May 21st at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where Chelsea http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-chelsea-fc.html & Manchester United http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-team-manchester-united-football-club.html will clash in an all-English affair, the very first ever, which also pits two of the most popular football teams in the world.
Thankfully we’re well stocked with plenty of gear from both of these fine clubs, who also are deadlocked in the table battle for the Barclays Premiership http://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop-by-league-premier-league.html title. The question is, how much will we have by the time the final comes? We’re selling tons of Man U and Chelsea jerseys as we speak, that’s why I worry that I won’t have much left to talk about in a few weeks. So come now to http://www.worldsoccershop.com/ and stock up on your favorite team’s gear, before it’s all gone!
Right now I’m busy setting up new products, and watching Bayern Munich get their Bavarian butts handed to them in St. Pete, as I hope to see a good Rangers v. Fiorentina UEFA Cup match. Tomorrow I’ll talk about that, plus other things, and gear, to look forward to this upcoming weekend.
