About the Jersey

Liverpool Football Club needed a jersey that could live up to their prestigious history. Many of the cups and titles that the Reds conquered (especially in the 70's and 80's) were won wearing 'jacquards' (a fancy name for woven-in design) and prints. Liverpool's new jersey features both. It's a jersey worthy of one of the giants in all of English soccer.

The crest has also been freshened up in tribute to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, but adidas has left the eternal burning flames intact. It is heat-pressed over your heart, and embroidered adidas logo is on the right chest. Also features the new sponsor logo for Standard Chartered, as it was announced on the club's official website on 14 September 2009 that Standard Chartered bank will be the new shirt sponsor from 2010 to 20114.
