Oranje Crush Azzurri

Going Wild at the Wankdorf

The biggest surprise of these Euro 2008 games thus far occurred yesterday, and it was a doozy. The Netherlands (or Holland) hammered Italy 3-0 for the most lopsided match of the tournament thus far. Though missing key players through injury (Van Persie and Robben), others stepped up, like Ruud van Nistelrooy, who scored the controversial first goal very early on, to set the tone of the match, possibly the tournament, as Holland will surely be the new faves to win it all.

In another surprise, but not so much, Romania held France to a stalemate of the scoreless kind, a clear victory for the Romanians.
